There are over twenty five different species common to shore fishing on the Gower coastline. No doubt there are those amongst you who will add to that list of species. Each year something out of the ordinary turns up. Red mullet, trigger fish, small blue sharks - even a thresher has been caught in the past! Many of you will add other venues to those that I’ve listed for there are plenty of locations that for reasons of transport, or distance or remoteness are not mentioned as being practical for the visiting angler. Neither is Swansea Bay from Mumbles Pier eastwards to the Dock Breakwater, although much of this area has become more popular as a charter boat area - and a very successful one as well.

For now be content with the treasure chest of sport that Gower has to offer you all. And remember - don’t forget to bring your camera for the one that nearly got away!

The booklet covers over 14 venues that begin with Mumbles Island.  There are locations that include Langland Bay, Caswell Bay, Oxwich Bay and the beaches at Horton and Port Eynon, Pwll Du and the rocky, bass-filled shore of Hunt’s Bay.

Rhossili Bay is a beach-casters paradise and the neighbouring, mysterious Worm’s Head is an area that produces big bass and pollack for the spinning enthusiasts.

There is even a section dedicated to where to get baits locally!
From Mumbles to Burry Holms “Fishing The Gower Coast” provides all the necessary information to help both the novice and experienced angler to catch fish on the Gower Peninsula.
